THE PEOPLE IN OUR AGORA
Albert Anderson — Senior Scholar and President of Agora Publications. Dr. Anderson has held tenured positions in philosophy at Babson College, Clark University, and Albion College. He has also held full-time faculty positions at Rhode Island School of Design, where he served as Chair of the Liberal Arts Division, and at Bates College, where he taught in the Cultural Heritage program.. At Babson College he served as Chair of the Liberal Arts Division and as the Murata Professor of Ethics. He holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in philosophy from Boston University, and a B.A in English and Theater Arts from Morningside College.
Liesleotte Anderson — Senior Editor & Partner. Her scholarly work centers on academic translations from German to English. She earned a B.A., M.A. and M.Ed from Clark University and has taught courses in German language and culture at Clark University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Babson College as well as English as a Second Language at Harvard University Extension School. She died at age 80 in August of 2019.
Ray Munro — Director of Dramatizations. He is Professor of Theater at Clark University. In our Agora he directs dramatic productions, selects the actors, and helps interpret the texts. He is the founder and artistic director of Foxrock Performance Company.
William Sigalis — Actor and oral interpreter. One professor who visited our book exhibit at the American Philosophical Association said: "Bill Sigalis is Socrates." He has performed leading roles for theater companies in New England and has frequently served as guest artist with Clark University’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts and as a member of Foxrock Performance Company. He died at age 88 in 2021.
Neil Schroeder — Actor. A Clark University faculty member for forty years, where he taught in the English Depafrtment and then in the Visual and Performing Arts Department. He majored in English at Brown University, taught at Brown and at Yale University, where he received his Ph.D. in Theatre History. One of his last performances was in Samuel Beckett's "Krapp's Last Tape," a one-man play performed in Worcester, Boston, and in Krakow, Poland. He died at age 86 in 2016.
Ray Childs — Actor and oral interpreter. Ray Childs is a professional book narrator, a member of the AFT/SAG Audio Publishers Association, Media Communications Association/International, Massachusetts Media Alliance, and Massachusetts Interactive Media Council. He has created and produced about 2,000 television and radio Commercials and dozens of notable book narrations.
Henry Akona — Actor. He is a director and composer in New York City where his opera “Tabula Raza” had its world premier in August 2005. He has also taught extensively in New Hampshire and in Minnesota where he was an assistant director at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. In 2006, he worked as assistant director of 18 plays at the Vaclav Havel Festival in New York City.
Albert Aeed —Actor. He lives in New York City where he is active in the theater. He performed the role of John Foster Dulles in “Where Eagles Dare,” presented at the Blackbird Theater and has acted with the at the Bouwerie Lane Theater.
Aidan Anderson—Actor. He is a graduate of Interlochen Academy in Michigan (2022) where he regularly performed in student productions. He is currently studying at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in England.
Donald Krueger — Art Director. He created all of the art work that appears with our various products and on this website. He studied at Kansas City Art Institute and Rhode Island School of Design and taught studio art at Rhode Island School of Design, Washington University in St. Louis, Southeastern Massachusetts University, and Clark University, where he also directed the studio art program until his retirement. In 2014 he died at age 85 in Casanovia, New York.
Michael Severens — Composition and Performance (cello). He received a Bachelor degree from Benington College with a major in music and a Masters degree in cello performance and composition from California Institute of the Arts. He is currently first chair cellist at the Guanajuato Orchestra and is a tenured professor at Guanajuato University in Mexico.
Joe Chilorio — Recording Engineer at Mechanics Hall Productions in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Mary Taylor—Editor. Retired English teacher (Briarwood School, Houston Texas; Darien High School, Connecticut)—literature, writing, and history. Masters degree from Fairfield University; B.A, Ohio Wesleyan University.
